Creepy.

I found this old photo of a kid. I think it's the creepiest thing I've ever seen. Maybe I should make it more of a dream world and add things like this into it. Random stuff. Like a moose head on a plaque. And a roller coaster... with a rhino in it. haha.

Digital Alchemy

I had another idea.
Maybe less difficult than the mechanical garden.
A world where fairytales are reality. The idea of Red Hiding hood and the big bad wolf- a forrest scene? The way it would look in a nightmare maybe? Eery green mist? Here are some images I found.

originality issue

I just noticed that my circle idea has already been used on the gobstopper package- I'm going to have to make sure that it doesn't look too similar!

Layering idea concept

Playing with transparency and over lapping layers of cicrles, mimicking the gobstopper.

Gobstoppers

I've decided to keep things simple.
I'm going to design a gobstopper package. None of this 'designing a character'. I'm going to use the layers of a gobstopper as a concept for my package.

Mechanical Garden?

After having that dream, and thinking more about this concept, maybe a mechanical garden could be a clearer concept? With plants and trees, but made of steel, with wires etc.
Could I be making this too hard for myself? haha
I'll give it a go, and see.

inspiration

Garden images/ideas

Digital Alchemy- world depictions

My crazy dream...

I had this strange dream the other night.
I was sitting in a garden with a friend of mine. We were having a personal conversation- not too sure what it was about. But what stood out most about this dream, was the garden. It was almost.. animated I suppose? The leaves were unravelling as if they were growing in seconds, and lady beetles would appear and disappear. It was really bright, and almost computer game like. It was realistic, but enhanced in colour and form.

This made me think of my Digital Alchemy project.
An animated/moving/growing garden. Maybe the garden is growing strange objects. Or, objects are embedded in the leaves, or stalks of the plants? Bees pollinating the flowers? The idea that the world grows from plants?

Milk bottles/Banana lollies - further research

Candy Box- illustration??

From all the images I liked whilst researching for this assignment, I've realised that alot of them have something in common- illustrated characters.
So- I might have a look at some childrens books to get some ideas. Because I'm possibly going with this children book theme, I feel like I should be doing a classic lolly, like jelly beans or raspberries or banana lollies. Hmmm... banana gives me an idea... monkeys... jungle..... I might start from there.

Final Postcard.

The Perfectionist strikes again

Honestly. I can't stop. I suppose it's because I wasn't completely happy with my final. I felt it needed more work. It looked pretty unfinished. So I neatened a few things up a little, and I thought it wasn't "crazy" enough. I then rememembered the Andy Warhol drawing which I did for my Drawing Class- I thought maybe I could use that. My assignment is actually due in today. I should be finished. I should just stop now and just hand the thing in. But I just can't help it. Here is the pencil drawing transciption I had to do in Drawing Class.

Addition of recent photo of Mick Jagger

The wolfmother image just wasn't working with the others, so I decided to go with a more recent photo of Mick Jagger to "repeat" Andy Warhols original piece.
