Starting my Mandala

Antique and Vintage Jewellery

Antique or vintage jewellery. The composition of different textures arranged in such a way that captures your eye and directs it to particular detail. I suppose I love to make the old new in a way, just as these items of jewellery can be worn as new these days.

True Rouge- Created by Tunga

Interesting textures that are really brought alive even though they're just the one colour. Maybe I could play with this idea? Using transparency?

textile patterns

I stumbled across these textile patterns whilst navigating this "blogger.com" website. I love the simplicity of black and white line drawings, clean cut patterns and images which have an interesting use of positive and negative space.

Textile patterns could be a theme for my mandala.

Tad Bits, Bric-a-Brac and Bits-and-Pieces

These pictures remind me of my own collections of bits-and-pieces in my room. Even though it may look like a handful of odds and ends, they still work as a collection. Organised chaos I suppose. I also like the way this website has been compiled. The handwritten Q&A gives it a homely or nostalgic feel.

This has given me an interesting and solid idea for a theme for my mandala. Antique. Maybe antique jewellery? There are heaps of interesting compositions of necklaces and brooches and earrings that could be used as inspiration for this assignment (mandala).

First Time Blogger

I mighn't have ever set up a blog before, but there's always a first time for everything right? I've been typing and retyping these first few sentences, and have decided that I shouldn't be editing out anything, as this is supposed to be a window to my thought processes right? Good luck understanding my erratic train of thought- but as I said, there's always a first time for everything.
